All the dogs that went to Holland have found new homes which is fantastic,in September there will be a few more going , we still are a bit over crowded but the dogs are happy & only 6 were put to sleep, thanks to all the people that responded to our appeal and came and are still coming to adopt, we don't know how to thank you enough. We are now asking if any one can offer to foster our young pups until they have had their injections, they won't survive in the kennels, if you can help now or perhaps not at the moment but in the future when we have more come in, please give me a ring or text me, Mave. I would like to thank everyone very much who has fostered & is fostering at the moment, you have given these pups a life which is so precious, without animals the world would not be the same, we help them & they help us in so many ways. As from January 1st 2012 pets will no longer require the blood test if entering the UK from EU and non EU listed countries.
Just a microchip and a rabies vaccination (in that order).
The wait is just 21 days from the date of the rabies vaccination.
Therefore any pets in for testing from now on will not need it and they can all enter in January!

There has been a lot of discussion recently about healthcare rights and
some confusion about the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), the
little blue cards that used to be known as E111 forms. Here is a
brief guide to EHIC entitlements which should answer some of your
questions. Of course, if you still have doubts about EHIC use, you
can visit www.nhs.co.uk,
ukinspain.fco.gov.uk or contact your local Pension, Benefit and
Healthcare Team based at the British Consulates in Alicante and
Malaga.

A few other things to remember about EHICs:
- Residency in this
instance refers to your centre of interest. This can be defined by
where you spend most of your time, where you work or where you have
your main ties.
- EHICs offer access to treatment on
the same basis that health care is normally provided to nationals of
that State.
- Most EHICs issued by the UK are
sent to UK residents, and some of the letters that usually accompany a
UK resident’s EHIC have been sent to UK citizens living abroad.
The letters have now been adapted, and all cards issued in the future to
those living abroad should be catered towards an international
audience.
- If you are not eligible for a
European Health Insurance Card, it is advisable to take out private
health insurance when travelling abroad.

"Yoga Day Out with a difference" Fed up with the daily routine? Want to meet new people or visit somewhere different? Once a month, why not join a very lively bunch of people for 2 hours of yoga with a difference, followed by a fabulous menu of the day at a local restaurant. Pamela Sharp, Yoga Teacher & Reiki Master, who has lived and practised in Spain for 35 years is an excellent teacher and always does something different. In December we are going to be taught how to cure ailments by "Tapping". (No previous experience necessary!). The yoga is held at the Town Hall in La Galera from 11am to 1pm and afterwards we go to somewhere different for lunch, where the food is always excellent and good value for money. The whole day usually costs about €20 and will definitely be no more than €25.00. Usually the day out is on the first Friday of the month. We have been shown how to cure ailments by "Tapping" and on another occasion we were introduced to the Enneagram personality system. We never know what to expect, but it's always fun! After yoga we normally go to a local restaurant for lunch, where the food is excellent and very good value for money but in June this year we are doing something different. We are having a picnic lunch in the countryside, going to see some 1,000 year old olive trees and then we will visit a Bio-dynamic farm in Ulldecona.

Regular services and special events mark the late Autumn season at St Christopher’s English speaking church which covers an area of coast from Castellon to Ametlia del Mar, south of Tarragona.
Weekly services are held every Sunday at 10am in Vinaros at the church centre known as Portico, in Plaza Primero de Mayo 5. In Alcossebre Sunday services are at 12am in the Catholic Church of San Cristabal .
The newest and rapidly growing congregation north of the Ebro Delta meets on the first and third Sundays of each month at 12.30pm in the Catholic church at Ampolla, with some special additional services for events such as Remembrance Sunday on 13th November.
Each of the three locations also has a Drop-in Centre – in Alcossebre “El Camino” near the seafront, behind Valentin’s Restaurant is open from11am till 2pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday with a chance to meet new friends and pick up a book from our second-hand collection or something to wear from our quality used clothing store.
In Vinaros, Portico is open to welcome you on Thursdays between 11am and 1pm.
In Ampolla the latest drop-in centre is due to open during November and will offer a warm welcome to all visitors and local residents.
The church also offers pastoral help – the Parish Priest, Rev Paul Needle is always on call on 662 482 944 and can respond quickly to needs for funerals or hospital visits. Baptisms and Marriage Blessings can also be arranged.
Special Christmas services are being planned and details will be available shortly.

Hello, I'm Able,
Not so long ago I was found wondering in the mountains around Camarles. But considering people took me in and brought me to the animalshelter Alberg d'Animals in Camarles. I'm a male dog, about 2 to 3 years young. The people were not discouraged when they saw I have only three legs. Everything under my knee is gone. I can walk normal, even run. Sitting, standing, all no problem. It's just that I move a little different than others.
I'm a young and playfull dog. Luckely the people figured out that I'd rather be with a playmate than on my own. I love to run, love to give attention to people.
My fur is short, colored in white and black, and I have a long tail and long ears. From a distance you could say I look like a Danish Dog, but then a little shorter.
